We have been working on establishing a
better understanding of the demographics of our membership. One of the
first tasks was to produce a map of the US Members of the Society showing the concentrations of our membership in the United States. In the accompanying map, the display is from low concentration indicated by the black dots to higher concentrations indicated by the red, yellow, white, and blue in that order.
Based partially on these concentrations we are preparing to roll out the initial PMCoPs in several areas over the next two months. The initial areas will be Seattle, Colorado Springs, Boston, Los Angeles and Atlanta. While these are not all the areas of highest concentration, they represent a large enough group and include the location of one of the contributors to the asapm PMCoP definition. Based on the feedback from this pilot program we will be working with those in other areas to aid in establishing a PMCoP in any area where a group wishes to get together.
Additionally, over the next few weeks many of you will be contacted with a short questionnaire, which among other things will help us plan out our Spring conference. From this information we will establish the timing, location, and format for the conference and also have a better feel for the ways in which asapm can make your membership an even more rewarding experience.
As any organization grows, it has to keep itself informed as to the changing requirements of its membership and while not changing its basic tenets, adjust for the constituency that it serves. To that end we hope that you will be able to take the time and provide us the feedback that will provide us the knowledge to provide those services.
