Global Performance Based Standards
for Project Management
asapm is working with
other PM Professional Associations, government standards and
qualifications agencies, and industry
from across the globe to develop
a framework of global
performance based
standards for project management personnel. The aim is to develop
a globally agreed standards framework that will facilitate global
recognition and transferability of qualifications. This will
provide significant benefit to individuals, to global corporations
and to all those operating in today's global business
environment.
Standards Director Bill Duncan travelled to France to attend the
group's Lille Working Session 24-26 February 2003. At that session,
a Working
Group developed
a first draft of the framework. One reason why asapm is involved
with this effort is that our Certification Program will be based
on its results.
The results of this first Working Session
are presented in GPBSPMP Working Report No 1. This
report is being circulated widely, to organizations and individuals,
with a request for feedback. Access the report at www.globalPMstandards.org.
asapm encourages our members and guests to read, review and provide
feedback on the contents of the Working Report.
Feedback received by 30th May 2003 will be reviewed and a further report
will be circulated to those who have expressed interest. This report
will also be posted on the www.globalPMstandards.org web site. A further
Working Session is scheduled for Sydney, Australia, in early October
2003.
